In 1937, Bruno Ast founded the trading company Kurval in Amsterdam. As is well known, these were extremely challenging years, and it can rightfully be described as courageous to start a new business at that time with only a few guilders in capital.
Bruno Ast quickly realized that the company’s right to exist depended on delivering excellent service and supplying the highest-quality products available on the market. His guiding principle was:
“Everyone may do as they wish, but Kurval leads the way.”
Based on this philosophy, Bruno Ast established partnerships with suppliers of exceptionally high-quality products. His successors have continued this approach and still refer to this guiding principle today.
As a full-service supplier to the advanced technical industry, Kurval BV is one of the most broadly oriented companies in the Netherlands. We currently operate three product groups that demonstrate strong mutual synergy, enabling us to serve as a comprehensive and versatile supplier.
Our in-depth market knowledge combined with a strong understanding of our customers’ production processes makes us a reliable development partner for high-end technical products that will shape the future. Kurval is committed to sharing its expertise and experience in high-tech solutions with its customers.
Kurval is a knowledge-driven company specializing in polishing and lapping surfaces down to the finest scale. Our polishing course is designed for professionals who wish to deepen their expertise and effectively manage their daily operations.
Wherever possible, we support our clients in maintaining and mastering this highly specialized discipline within precision metalworking.
Since August 2018, we have been based in a newly constructed facility in Nieuw-Vennep. The advantage of this relocation was that we were able to design and equip the building entirely according to our own specifications, in line with the requirements of a full-service supplier to the high-tech industry.
In addition to a spacious, open warehouse and modern office environment, we now have a fully accessible 100 m² practical training area for polishing and lapping. This space allows us to train up to six participants simultaneously. Furthermore, we operate a dedicated lapping room equipped with a lapping machine, enabling us to carry out test lapping up to full high-gloss finishes.
Our product portfolio for polishing and lapping applications is extensive and can now be showcased more effectively. Thanks to our broad experience in lapping, we are able to meet virtually any flatness requirement. We also provide solutions for specification-compliant finishing of high-tech products.
