Watlow Process and Temperature Controllers

 

Kurval supplies Watlow process and temperature controllers, limit controllers, power controllers, operator interface terminals, and other accessories for controlling and monitoring complete thermal systems. In industrial machinery, processes, and commercial equipment, Watlow products regulate parameters such as temperature, upper/lower temperature limits, relative humidity, flow, position, and pH, among others.

EZ-ZONE® PM PLUS™ Controllers

 

The Watlow PM PLUS™ is the enhanced version of the EZ-ZONE® PM controller. It features an improved interface for easier programming and better readability. The PM PLUS™ includes a SMOOTH-TOUCH™ keypad and can be equipped with Bluetooth® via the EZ-LINK™ mobile app. PM PLUS™ uses the same rear connectors as the standard PM series, making it fully interchangeable. Like the original EZ-ZONE PM controller, PM PLUS™ is available as a PID controller or PID with integrated limit. An additional advantage is the display’s IP67 protection rating.

PM LEGACY™ Panel Controllers

 

PM LEGACY, PM LEGACY Express, PM LEGACY Limit, PM LEGACY Limit Express

The Watlow® LEGACY PID panel controller provides optimal performance with simple operation and menu functionality, avoiding complex features. It is ideal for basic applications and user levels. LEGACY offers one universal input with up to two output options and is available in 1/16 DIN and 1/32 DIN panel-mount packages. Controllers can be configured as process controllers or upper/lower temperature limit controllers. Features include auto-tuning for fast and efficient startup, a SMOOTH-TOUCH™ keypad that eliminates contamination points on the front of the controller, improved front panel sealing, and Bluetooth® connectivity via the EZ-LINK™ app for easy installation and monitoring.

Power Controllers

 

Solid-State Power Controllers

Watlow solid-state power controllers provide rapid switching required by PID temperature controllers, ensuring optimal system performance and long service life. Available in single-phase and three-phase configurations, these controllers feature touch-safe terminals and input indicators. Models range from 18 to 1,000 amps and carry certifications including CE and UL® 508. Various configurations provide short-circuit current ratings (SCCR) up to 200,000 A, extensive system and heater diagnostics, integrated heatsinks, onboard fuses, RoHS compliance, and serial communication.

DIN-A-MITE® Power Controllers

DIN-A-MITE controllers provide optimal system performance and longevity. Available in single-phase and two- or three-phase configurations (two-phase controlled without neutral, three-phase controlled with neutral). Features include variable time base, 4-20 mA process control, and VAC/VDC input contacts (model-dependent). Standard mounting is DIN-rail or rear-panel. DIN-A-MITEs are mercury-free.

Aspyre Power Controllers

Watlow’s new ASPYRE models are flexible and easily expandable, with a wide range of options to support multiple applications from a single platform, saving time and cost. Models range from 35 A to 700 A and include advanced microprocessor-based control algorithms, diagnostics, and communication options for equipment and plant automation. Smart algorithms enable precise control of a wide range of heating loads.

Control Capabilities and Load Types:

All controllers support multiple firing types, including standard resistive loads, infrared lamps, medium- and long-wave lamps, Moly (Kanthal® Super), transformers, silicon carbide, UV lamps, and tungsten. Communication options include Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU 485, Profibus DP, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP. Interfaces feature a 0.96” wide OLED display with 128 × 64 resolution. ASPYRE controllers can include Wi-Fi and data logging.
