Polishing and honing brushes

Polishing Brushes for Every Application

Finishing round holes to reduce surface roughness is often a challenge, especially when dealing with small diameters. Polishing brushes offer a solution and are available in various designs. For example, you can use a metal wire brush, but nylon brushes filled with abrasive grit also offer extensive possibilities. Polishing with brushes supplemented with a polishing medium, such as paste or gel, is also possible.

If the hole needs not only a better surface finish but also a perfectly cylindrical shape, it is recommended to finish it with an Engis® diamond honing needle. These honing bushings, which may or may not be adjustable, can be used when both the size and surface finish of the hole are important. The diamond grit can be embedded or added separately. Electroplated diamond honing needles do require precise specification of this surface requirement to select the correct diamond grit size.
